Summit of Giants: Trump, Xi and the Race to Control AI

Rarely has a meeting between a US and Chinese President been more critical, as Presidents Trump and Xi prepare to meet for their summit in Washington next week. Their agenda includes trade tariffs, wars, space warfare, Taiwan, and more. Yet, it’s not clear whether the stark alarm being sounded by AI tech bosses will have the urgency of attention that it needs by the two countries whose role in regulating and slowing the pace of development is key.

In this episode, we explore what lies behind the tech bosses’ warning, and why the geopolitics, trade, military and commercial interests of both countries may serve to alternatively conspire to set humanity on a dangerous and unchartered course or see an unprecedented commitment to collaborate in addressing a truly existential crisis. At this critical moment, the stakes are very high. Our intentions and prayers for an outcome that serves the highest good are desperately needed, as we’ll see.
